What’s it all about?
After surviving a stroke, Lake Illawarra resident Michael Hamilton vowed to help make a difference to the lives of others. A few years ago he made good on that promise, when he walked from Seacliff Bridge to Windang Bridge to raise funds for KidzWish. Now every year Michael leads the KidzWish Bridge2Bridge walk along the 42-kilometre track with 100 other walkers, aiming to raise funds for KidzWish.
Participants can chose to walk from Sea Cliff Bridge to Windang Bridge or part of the course, with 7 different sections to cater for people of all abilities.
How your support helps
Our vision is to help Illawarra & South Coast children who are sick, disadvantaged or have a disability and their families so they’ll never walk alone. With your support we can help them with Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Appeals Program, Music & Dance Program, Sports Academy Program and the KidzWish Children’s Christmas Party. 100% of profits from this event will help fund these KidzWish Programs.
Course summary

Leg 2: Austinmer Beach to Bulli Beach (5km)
Leg 3: Bulli Beach to Towradgi Beach (6.3km)

National Sorry Day is an Australia-wide observance held on May 26 each year. This day gives people the chance to come together and share the steps towards healing for the Stolen Generations, their families and communities. Stolen generations refer to Indigenous Australians who were forcibly removed from their families and communities.

What is National Reconciliation Week?
27 May – 3 June
These dates commemorate two significant milestones in the reconciliation journey— the successful 1967 referendum, and the High Court Mabo decision respectively.
National Reconciliation Week (NRW) is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.
Reconciliation must live in the hearts, minds and actions of all Australians as we move forward, creating a nation strengthened by respectful relationships between the wider Australian community, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Make reconciliation part of your story, and your future.

I am your Client Representative, Sharon Holz, and I am visiting Ulladulla on the 5th September 2017 to meet with Essential Employment & Training (EET) service users for an informal group chat.
As a person living with a disability, I am very interested to hear if you have any questions about what EET can do for you, or ideas about how it can improve its services. I am also happy to meet with you after our group discussion if you wish to speak to me personally.

Thanks to the generous support of the Illawarra Leagues Club, Lifeline South Coast is offering a FREE safeTALK suicide awareness seminar to members of our community.

safeTALK is an alertness workshop that prepares anyone over the age of 15, regardless of prior experience or training, to become a suicide-alert helper. Most people with thoughts of suicide don’t truly want to die, but are struggling with the pain in their lives. Through their words and actions, they invite help to stay alive. safeTALK-trained helpers can recognise these invitations and take action by connecting them with life-saving intervention resources.
Who should attend a safeTALK workshop?
safeTALK offers valuable skills to everyone 15 and older and requires no formal training or prior experience in suicide prevention. safeTALK is an excellent tool for people who want to become alert to the dangers of suicide in a convenient timeframe. Although formal caregivers such as social workers and counsellors employ safeTALK skills, the program is also used by students, teachers, community volunteers, first responders, military personnel, police, public and private employees, and professional athletes—among many others. By providing a universal model with adaptable components, safeTALK offers useful skills to every audience.
What can I expect from a safeTALK workshop?
safeTALK is a powerful experience. You can expect to feel challenged, empowered, and hopeful. Your safeTALK trainer will demonstrate the importance of suicide alertness and help you identify ways people invite help when they’re at risk. safeTALK’s steps provide a simple yet effective method to engage with people at risk and connect them with resources that can carry out a full-scale intervention. At the end of the workshop, you’ll have a chance to practice these skills firsthand. All in all, you can expect to leave safeTALK with practical knowledge of how to identify someone at risk and link them to life-saving resources.
A Lifeline South Coast support person will attend every safeTALK workshop.
Lifeline is available 24/7 on 13 11 14
